THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST.

THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL POST.

Do we really want to be known as the country divided by politics and a Nike ad? We all have our differences and all have our arguments but that should NEVER make our hearts bitter towards one another.

Humanity was made very diverse, therefore we will all have different views on topics. It’s really not that hard to agree to disagree and LOVE one another.

Lately, I’ve seen more and more people of all ages using their voice to argue and negatively approach topics that mean a lot to them and millions of others…. But what is bashing others beliefs actually doing?

Hurting and dividing us further apart.

So instead of bashing Colin Kaepernick and Nike or the NFL and the President, Why don’t we close our mouths and take ACTION in our causes?

I promise you, your voice is valuable… But only when being respectful.

Whether your with or against Nike, Trump, Legalization of marijuana or anything in between… Use your voice to love and push a positive message just as Jesus did.

(And again, I am not sponsoring any party in this post, just using as examples.)

Dear Chester...

Dear Chester,
Your hurt won’t last forever. The feeling you have at this moment will pass and the voices you hear will soon fade. Your wife will see you, smile and know that she has an amazing husband to stand beside her. Your children will come with their arms wide open, ready to embrace the love of their father. Your voice has impacted millions and will most likely continue to for decades to come. Your fans are encouraged by your voice and look forward to seeing you every time you come to their city and line up for hours and sometimes days to get in to hear your band play. Every time you release a song or an album, millions gather around their devices, eager to listen and embrace what you have created… You are loved beyond words. You were made by a beautiful God and given a gift and a message of encouragement that no one else can duplicate… You’re a light in a dark world. Don’t let depression define you. Jesus defeats all depressions.. Just know that you are loved.

Chester Bennington may be gone but he will never be forgotten. Last year we lost a legend and this is what I would have said if I had the chance... obviously, it’s late but I am posting it for anyone struggling and as an outlet to remind us to take mental health seriously and LOVE people no matter what state of life they are in... whether they look like they have it all together or are visibly struggling... love them. You might just save their life.
Struggling? Reach out to myself or one of the amazing people or organizations I’ve tagged in the picture above or call 1-800-273-8255 for immediate help. #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention

Overwhelmed? Read this.

When life gets busy, we seem to lose all train of thought! We tune out on EVERYTHING except for what is going on here and NOW! We stop planning and we keep grinding. Which is perfectly normal when you work a full-time job and have your priorities straight.

But when you stack too much on your plate and have left God out of the equation for so long… Why does He become the main target of your stresses when you get overwhelmed?

You see where this is going now, don’t ya?

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

- Matthew 6:33

If You are carving out time for God, then you KNOW that He is good all the time. He is always with you and will never leave you! He is the reason we are even here… literally.

God wants to be your first, your last and EVERYTHING in between! He is a jealous God and craves our attention just as much as we crave His! But the difference is that we NEED Him.

Personally, I feel that as a human without Jesus, I am nothing at all.

Just a guy with a life of labor and no reward worth striving for.

But with Jesus, I am unstoppable.

Response to suicide.

This morning, I woke up to the news of fashion designer, Kate Spade, had chosen to take her own life. A woman of fame, fortune, power, and leadership, had taken her own life.
I, along with millions of others instantly thought, “why on earth would she do something like that? She had it all!”… And I instantly remembered something someone told me a long time ago… Money can’t buy nor provide a lifetime of joy.

Now, while I pray for her children and family, I can’t help but think,
What could have possibly lead this worldwide icon to this tragedy? Leaving behind her children, friends, and fortune. I began to wonder, if I had known Kate Spade, Chester Bennington or any human that has ever made this decision, what could I have done if I had known what they were going through?

Obviously, I would have told them that they are loved and that they don’t have to do this… But I can’t change what is done. So, How can we do our part to make sure that we are doing our part to help those thinking that it’s over for them… but that shouldn’t be the focus.

Why don’t we show others love all the time? Even on our worst of days.

Knowing that everyone that you meet or see is worth a smile, wave or a word of encouragement.
Am I saying to stop and talk to EVERYONE you see? No. I am simply stating that I believe that you can go out of your way to be a kind person. Kindness is contagious and your act of kindness can and will potentially save lives.

Let’s see the facts:
By definition, Suicide is the act of intentionally causing one’s own death.
Suicide is something that seems to be viewed upon as something that does n’t happen everywhere and most believe that they will never have to mourn a loved one’s suicide… Until its too late.
While you can’t go back and change the way things are, you can look for the signs and find the steps that could have prevented and healed them through whatever issue that they were facing.

The act of suicide is a REAL THING. It happens every day. So why isn’t prevention a top priority topic in our schools, churches and everyday lives? Awareness is CRUCIAL to healing. If you know how to handle a situation, it is more likely to get solved, right? (Yes.) Spread awareness and always be the best you that you can be.

You can change a life and possibly even the world.

Speak up, use your voice and know that help is always available to you.

Change is here and the high rates of suicide can drop drastically if we do our part as a community to see the signs and take action… Not because you have to but because you WANT to.
But that is where you come in. We have to use our lives as messengers to tell those who may be struggling with hidden illnesses such as depression, and to tell them that THEY HAVE TOO MUCH VALUE to make the biggest mistake of their lives. No dollar amount can replace a human life, no feeling of loneliness is too much for you to get through because you ARE STRONG. Stronger than you’ll ever know.

You are worth more than gold, cars money and anything that you can possibly own and I promise you, Your life matters. Your story isn’t over.
